Albert C. Jr. and Dorothy C. Busche: Water Recreation 1944-1946
Albert C. Jr. and Dorothy C. Busche, owners of a small craft and yacht sales company were perhaps attracted to the property with plans for expanding their business to Lake Hodges. However, their interest in the area faded quickly as a drought began to dry the lake to the point that it was closed to boating and fishing in 1947. In the meantime their investment and attention shifted to a harbor development in San Diego involving the sales of sport sailing. They founded the San Diego Yacht club.
