Clara Huntington and Jane Perkins Huntington Kuska: 1941–1944
In February, 1941, Florence and Louis M. Richard, formerly wife and husband sold the ranch to Clara Huntington, the daughter of Huntington Library and Huntington Beach fame. One month prior to its purchase, by Clara Huntington, a newspaper article announced that the property was in the process of being developed into a Guest Ranch for vacationers. Investors from Los Angeles were described as having worked on the property five months prior. The extent of the development is unknown.

Clara Huntington gifted the property to her daughter, Jane Perkins Huntington (Wescott) Kuska only a few years after her purchase from the Richard's. One history associated with the ranch indicates that it may have been a wedding gift to Jane from her mother, as gift for her second marriage to Ralph Kuska. Clara Huntington visits and exchanges with her daughter Jane are mentioned in San Francisco society pages.
The Kuska's bred and raised show dogs and lived briefly at the ranch. Before moving to Oregon where they continued to work with show dogs and expanded into the role of art collectors, they sold the property May, 1944 to Albert and Dorothy Busche. The local newspaper, Daily Times-Advocate stated that: "the fine Spanish home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kuska, overlooking Lake Hodges recently purchased by Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Busche, of San Diego who plan to occupy the property in the immediate future."
